Dr McLintock is a Brisbane-based Ophthalmologist (EyeSurgeon) with sub-specialist expertise in Cataract Surgery, Refractive Surgeryand Corneal transplantation. He is committed to patient-focused care andproviding his patients with international standard, leading-edge treatmentsavailable for their eye health.
After 7 years at the University of Queensland, Dr McLintockgraduated as a medical Doctor in 2006. He then worked in several Queenslandhospitals for the next 5 years, mainly in Internal Medicine and EmergencyMedicine. During this period, he developed an interest in Ophthalmology andcompleted a Masters of Medicine in Ophthalmic Science through the University ofSydney. Subsequently, he commenced 6 years of specialist training inOphthalmology which he completed through the Princess Alexandra Hospital, theRoyal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, the Gold Coast University Hospital and theQueensland Children’s Hospital. In 2017, he was awarded the Topham Scholarshipand travelled to England to undertake 18 months of sub-specialist training inCorneal and Refractive Surgery at the Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead,an institution with an international reputation for excellence and innovation.There he refined his skills in Cataract Surgery, Corneal Surgery (including alltypes of corneal transplants) and Refractive Surgery.
Dr McLintock consults privately at Southside Eye Centre inUpper Mount Gravatt, Westside Eye Doctors in Taringa and Mary River EyeSpecialists in Hervey Bay. In the public sector, he works as a Corneal andAnterior Segment Surgeon at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane.

Dr McLintock is passionate about teaching. He is a SeniorLecturer at the University of Queensland and is heavily involved with trainingQueensland’s future Eye Surgeons through his work at the Princess AlexandraHospital. As recognition of this, Dr McLintock was awarded the QueenslandTrainer or Excellence Award in 2019 by the Royal Australian and New ZealandCollege of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO).
Dr McLintock has authored numerous peer reviewed journalarticles in international Ophthalmology Journals on many topics includingcataract surgery, refractive surgery, keratoconus, corneal transplantation andlimbal stem cell transplantation. He regularly presents at Australian andInternational Ophthalmology conferences.
